Yesterday I paid a visit to Upper Fort Garry in Winnipeg with my girlfriend.  Its become an annual affair for us, and I often go there more than twice a summer.  In the last year the City of Winnipeg has been making some improvements to the site, including new wood work.  Most recently is a flag pole that has been attached to the upper level of the gate.  There is, however, something of concern that I’ve noticed, and that is that the front part of the gate seems to be sinking.  It is noticeably slanted and the ground around it also appears sunken.  I intend to inquire to the city about this and if any measure are being taken about it.
